 | ROGER JOHNSON
Born in East Texas and
raised to believe that this is the only place to live, Judy
and Roger moved to Longview in 1979 after completion of a
Urology residency in Houston, Texas. Four children grew up
in the Pinetree school system. While busy parents, time was
set aside to volunteer for community services and children
activities. Dr. Johnson has served on the boards of the Longview
Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement and Longview Regional
Hospital. As a lifelong Baptist, Dr Johnson is a past deacon
of First Baptist Church where he has been a member for the
past twenty-four years. Healthy activities have always been
promoted around the Johnson house. Children were encouraged
to participate in school athletics and Dr. Johnson has couched
numerous baseball, soccer and basketball teams.
Having grown up in a home
that encouraged entrepreneurship, it seemed natural to become
involved in business outside the practice of medicine. When
Jack Rhodes, a long time realtor and investor, approached
with the suggestion of buying and selling houses, it seemed
to be a simple endeavor. Fortunately, Jack’s wisdom
and experience was sought on many occasions, and the concept
of how to understand properties as an investment was gratefully
learned. Although personal properties did not prove to be
a good investment in the early eighties, the desire to develop
long-term real estate holdings did come out of this experience.
The first commercial properties
were acquired several years later and eventually a portfolio
of multitenant properties was assembled. Throughout this period,
the emphasis has always been to provide the client with the
best value for his money. |
